6th Project Call Shortlist
The 6th call for proposals was the biggest call yet, with over 3 Million Euro's made available by donors for projects. REEEP SA received 84 proposals for the 6th call, of which 12 proposals have been shortlisted and recommended to the international secretariat for development into full proposals. The 12 projects which have been selected for the shortlist are:

  • Financial Feasibility of sustainable energy technologies in the transformation of three  rural towns in South Africa led by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA).                     
  • Pilot Web based Southern African Carbon Clearing House.
  • Development and Implementation of financial risk management instruments for supporting Energy services development Investment in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Below Commercial Market Rates Lending Support for Rural Electrification in Uganda.
  • Developing a Vehicle for Solar Water Heater Mass Implementation in South Africa, and extending the existing REEEP manual and cities support website making the case for, and providing implementation support for the full range of renewable energy and energy efficiency options.
  • Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) Entrepreneurship and related financial institutions support /development programme in Tanzania.
  • Creating an investment model for Renewable Energy Service Companies in South Africa.
  • Reducing Investment Risks by Reversed Rural Electrification.
  • E+Co West Africa Modern Energy Fund.
  • Integrated Rural Energy Utility (IEU) Roadmap.
  • Investigation of operational, financial and environmental benefits emerging from use  of energy efficiency practices, and renewable energy in recently established commercial water and sewerage utilities in Zambia.
  • Enabling Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to participate more effectively in Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) activities.
